RYLA - Rotarian Resources - Chaporone Volunteer Notification
This is to submit notification that you have verified that the rotarian being submitted is willing to volunteer their time to work as a staff member at the RYLA 2010 camp. We will follow up with each volunteer via email to get additional information once we recieve the results of this form submission.
What does a Chaperone do? A chaperone is a designated staff member that provides a vital service of saftey and accountability for the campers. Chaperones are designated sleeping quarters within a building that sleeps 12-15 students. All Chaperones will have a private room with a private full bathroom. We need both female and male Chaperones, and normally there are more female cabins than male but it's difficult to know for sure how many of each until we get more registration numbers in. All meals for Chaperones are provided.
We do prefer to have Chaperones who can stay for the entire camp, arrival time's are flexible on the first day, but if there is any possiblity you are able to commit to staying it would be appreciated. Chaperones are also welcome to ride with the Rotarians who are providing transpertation to for the campers if they have extra room.
Because Chaperone's primary duty is to insure the integrity of sleeping arrangements and that takes place through the night - there are other things we may need your help with during the daily activies. The admin and training staff at RYLA need extra hands from time to time. It's great to have extra adults around to help with those needs. There are randome errands into town we may need as well and Chaperones are always wonderful at helping with that. Chaperones are also free to roam the grounds, and if you like you are welcome to offer support to students on the Ropes courses by being there to cheer them on and help build camper moral and participation. Saftey is our first priority, and its my goal that our staff not only be safe, but be good examples showing these kids what teamwork and leadership is all about.
Once we have a verified list of Chaporones I will be in contact to confirm your involvment, thank you for all you do as Rotarians!!
Let's have some fun with these kids and impact their lives forever!!
You need to submit this form for every confirmed volunteer you have that is willing to work at RYLA 2010 which is April 22nd through April 25th, thank you!
